Compare rent, exact locality, property type and recent availability before calling. A complete listing is useful; a vague promise is not.

Visit before you pay

Inspect the home in daylight. Check water timing, electricity meter, ventilation, mobile coverage, parking and the daily route you will actually use.

Verify the owner and terms

Ask for proof that the person can rent the property. Put rent, notice period, maintenance and meter readings into a signed agreement. Never pay a large token amount only to reserve an unseen property.
